Listening Tour 2021

The purpose of the 2021 Listening Tour is to communicate critically and creatively as a congregation and to brainstorm possibilities for mission and ministry at WPC. Your participation in one of these 90 minute sessions is important. Your responses will provide helpful information for the church staff and session as they discern what God is calling us to be as a church in this new season of ministry and mission.

How to join via zoom meeting

Once you are registered for your listening session, a meeting link will be sent to you, along with the meeting ID and password. You can also simply click JOIN LISTENING SESSION a few minutes prior to your meeting to join.

I you are unable to attend one of the Listening Tour Sessions, either IN-PERSON or via ZOOM MEETING, you are encouraged to submit your thoughtful replies to the following open-ended questions below.

Listening Tour Questions

  1. What are we doing well as a church? Why are these things working? Who or what needs to be recognized?

  2. What are we not doing well as a church? What are the specific causes to these weaknesses? What needs to be pruned?

  3. What are some of the opportunities for growth and development on the horizon that can help us become the church we’d like to be? How are people hurting, and what can we do to help them?

  4. What are potential threats to our future years of ministry? What hurdles and/or changes might we need to overcome?

  5. What have we learned in the pandemic and what are we still learning?

  6. Imagine…It is one year from now, and the congregation is gathering on a Sunday morning. They are giving thanks for the wisdom and the leadership showed by the church members in the previous twelve months. What are they saying we did to strengthen the church for future mission & ministry?
